STANANDLOU has added media planner and buyer, Sarah Sides, and account executive, Sarah Springer to the staff at the Houston full service advertising and marketing agency. Sides and Springer were added to assist with new clients Kolache Mama, Renaissance Health System, the Houston Dynamo and existing STANANDLOU clients.

Sarah Sides comes on board with more than five years of experience in the advertising and marketing arena. Formerly with McCann-Erickson/LCI Media in Houston and Garden Ridge nationally, Sarah has extensive knowledge buying all media in markets throughout the U.S. for a wide variety of clients.

TV Man edits Little Mexico spot, well, kind of…

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

Went to see Don Sattler today at TV Man to finish producing the TV spot I started yesterday at Sound Works but came across a little problem.

I brought the wrong footage! Well, let me rephrase that, I brought the right footage but in the wrong format. Remember the beta/VHS things many years ago? Well, it’s something like that. SONY HD videotape apparently can only be used with SONY HD machines!!!

Why can’t the world adopt one standard and make life easier for everybody?!!!

Ok, I’m over it now. Had to postpone my session with Don at TV Man until Monday.

Luckily, it’s Steak Nite over at PJ’s Sports Bar tonight and I can take my frustrations out on a piece of near raw T-bone! Feel better already…

Obesity Surgery Specialists patients tell it like it is.

If you ever want to feel good about life and get a nice boost of good energy, I heartily recommend that you talk to a person who has gone through weight-loss surgery.

You will be changed forever!

That’s how I felt after listening to these six amazing women who have lived almost their entire life overweight.

All have had weight-loss surgery at Obesity Surgery Specialists and all are in varying stages of their weight-loss journey, and after listening to their stories, you just want to go up and hug them. From Melissa, who has lost 500 pounds and has been featured on national TV, to Jasmine, who is just beginning her weight-loss journey, all of these wonderful people have had their lives transformed in so many different, wonderful ways.

They’re happy. They’re having fun. They’re healthier. And they have shown that with the right tools, you can do anything! We can all learn a great deal from these wonderful ladies!

Dave Henry of IFilm Productions shot the footage, Kate Wiggins of STANANDLOU was the interviewer, Rob from VT2 edited, VT2 producer, Morris Priddy, was executive producer, Willie Golden post-scored, and Lou Congelio produced. It was shot on the sound stage at VT2 Studios.

STANANDLOU heats up 2Q with three new business wins

Friday, June 5th, 2009

(HOUSTON)  STANANDLOU Marketing//Advertising added three new companies to its client roster with the addition of Kolache Mama, Renaissance Healthcare System, and the Houston Dynamo. Billings for the three Houston-based companies were not disclosed.

Kolache Mama awarded STANANDLOU their marketing and public relations business after a review of several New York City and Houston agencies.

“I am pleased to relate the appointment of STANANDLOU as the advertising and marketing arm for Mama’s house,” stated Richard Saler, president of Kolache Mama. “This group is strong on both the creative and execution requirements necessary to help Mama reach the consumer/corporate markets she is seeking.”

The agency will be responsible for all aspects of marketing, advertising, PR, collateral, and web-based media.

“We are extremely excited and flattered by our new relationship with Kolache Mama, stated Michelle Reed, principal at STANANDLOU. “They needed local marketing and public relations representation that could respond quickly and effectively to the many challenges of introducing a new food concept to the New York City market.”

Saler added, “The approaches outlined by STANANDLOU are not only cost effective, but more importantly, unique and special. We are fortunate to find this rare breed here in Houston.” (more…)

Go Texan Day at STANANDLOU!

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

It’s that time of year again…the rodeo is in town! We couldn’t think of a better way to cowboy up than to have our own rodeo cook off and celebration. Everyone came dressed in their best Texan gear and ready to stuff their faces with some good ol’ barbecue and iced tea.

STANANDLOU and Reggie Bibbs win big for neurofibromatosis.

Saturday night, Feb 21, 2009, was the 47th Annual Houston ADDY awards. It was the night of the stars. The American Advertising Federation honored Lou’s former boss, Don Brown, of Taylor Brown & Barnhill, while Only In Houston honored Steve Farrell, of Radio Music Theater, who is also one of the funniest guys I have ever seen. I met him after the ADDYs when Lou and I went to the theatre to present him with his award.  Steve is a great man and I was proud to meet him and his family.

But wait,  there were more winners Saturday night!

STANANDLOU and I won two gold ADDYs, one silver ADDY, and a Special Judges Award for Public Service Advertising for our new “Just Ask! ads! . That was a total surprise to me. I’m thankful that the work here on the Just Ask campaign is getting noticed. More people will learn about nf as we keep pushing forward. Thank you all for supporting the site with your visits.  SEE ALL THE ADS HERE.

And Lou Congelio, co-owner and President of STANANDLOU marketing//advertising couldn’t be happier.

“Vic and I have been friends for over 20 years so when he shared his idea of leasing space in his building to fellow creatives and media firms, it was a no-brainer. We’re in!”, said Congelio. “The building is beautiful, the people are great and it just makes good business sense for everybody. Plus, we have matching IKEA furniture!”

VT2 Studios is leasing space within their newly redesigned production complex to non-competing companies that want closer proximity to VT2’s resources and creative minds.  The first three tenants to lease space at VT2 Studios are STANANDLOU marketing//advertising, Mudbug Media and De La Garza Public Relations.

The idea of establishing a central creative community in Houston isn’t new. There have been several plans through the years to build a complex to house production, advertising and communication firms under one roof but none had come to fruition. VT2 Studios is the first to make the idea a reality.

“The world is changing and we’re changing with it.,” added STANANDLOU partner, Michelle Reed. “Lou founded Only In Houston based on the idea of developing and keeping creative talent in Houston, this shared environment is one more step in that direction.”

“Collaborating with clients on innovative and creative ways of communicating has been a cornerstone for us as a company,” said Vic Tamborella, owner and CEO of VT2 Studios. “Now, we’re opening our doors to other companies who want to benefit from having state-of-the-art facilities and creative resources right at their fingertips under one roof.”

If your company is looking for a change from the ordinary, call Michelle Reed at 713-400-7703 or visit our website at stanandlou.com. The change will do you good.
